  • Luna Moth

Making a new relief, this one is a Luna Moth on a branch in front of the moon, I love these moths I think they are just beautiful examples.

best to click the link, i have no clue how to fix this pic size on here. Thanks moderator for the pic link. I have been trying to figure out for the life why I cannot get my actual pic sizes to shrink down.

Man oh man, how did you ever download such a large picture????? Love the concept, can't wait to see it finished but, please make the pic a little smaller so I can see it all in one screen. Joe.

        Re: Luna Moth

Ok so the size is fixed sort of, its on another site so you can see the small or large version. I made some progress on day two. I am kind of worried about the actual moth when i get to it.

This looks like a great pattern to be owrking on. I did one several years ago lited on a wild poinsettia. It will be interesting to see when yours is completed.

              Re: Luna Moth

Thought I would show an updated picture and see if I can get the size right. Ok it didn't work but feel free to click on the link and see the latest work done on it. Bob I would love to see your carving, I am looking at the moth with a little intimidation, wondering how to make it come to life more. Thanks for the compliments Ed

                    Perpetually New Carver.

I'd first say that there is a great psycological aspect within that name. I think we are always learning.

You asked and I have attached a photo of the Luna Moth that I did. Hope it gives you some ideas. Mine was done in 3-D but it should lend itself to the relief you are doing. I'll be excited to see yours completed.

                      Re: Luna Moth

Ok so day 4 is down and in the bag, I want to post the pics of what I completed today. I am thinking I may have to do some pyrography on the moth to make it stand out as to its type, or else paint the whole work (I dont like this idea).

Ok going to reread the help files on this and try again, because that didn't work either. This is getting annoying. lol

                        Re: Luna Moth

I am finished with it mostly, I might touch up color or something, but I like the way it turned out. I definitely have seen things on this one which could be improved in the next piece I do, and learned a few things along the way. Anyway any comments you want to share would be appreciated.

I also think that you did a fine job on the end product. Each is different and one should follow their vision of the project.

                            Great job
