I wasn't going to post this because it's similar to a couple of other nurse bears that I've carved and given away but the response was so great this morning at my Gastroenterologist's office when I presented it to his nurse that I just had to share it.
You'd have thought that Publishers Clearing House had walked in the door and handed her an over sized check for a $100,0000. She went banana's and ran from room to room showing it to all the gals and the doctor, then running out in the waiting room and in front of all the other waiting patients she gave me a great big hug.
I'm telling you, that hug was worth more to me than if I'd sold the bear for a $100 at a craft fair and it just reinforces my aim to keep carving these things and giving them away as long as I can.
Folks have commented about my imagination and where do I come up with all the ideas for the different outfits but basically I just fit the bear to the situation. One time it's a nurse, another time a medical technician, still again a mail lady.
Folks love keepsakes and mementos of their work. Just walk through a fancy craft or souvenir shop and look at some of the commercially available items. And when you carve something custom for them it makes it all that more special!
Bring a smile to your health care providers! Make something special for them! I guarantee you'll be glad that you did and the return on your efforts will be way more than you can imagine!
