    Well the results are in, I didn't do as well as last year. The only carving that received any awards was the toad with the insect in it's mouth, and it only got an honorable mention.

    Let us know how you do at the fair. The best part of competing at all is meeting the other carvers, so I hope you allow time to just hang around during drop off and pick up hours to see everyone else's work and meet them.
    I really like the work that you are entering. Good luck with the entries.
    My favorite is the woodspirit because I love the colors you have used.

    Claude: I used tupelo for the wings. I seem to be able to get it thinner without it cracking. I tried basswood but the grain lines were too weak when you get it thin enough for the wings.
