A couple new animalls

Have done two new giraffes recently and whiped up a little whale too while watching Moby Dick last night. Overall happy with both giraffes but the whales tail didn't come out the way I wanted.

I still have to finish smoothing them out, then paint that ill probably do withen the next few days.

Looking awesome Hannibal! I did a whale as one of my first animals – I ended up lopping off half the tail by accident. I suggest trying a shaping rasp (flat or curved) rather than carving once you get the approximate brick cut out.

Can't wait to see the painted figures!

Sorry it took so long, I've been working midnights and had to go buy some different paints.



And while waiting for time to go get paints, I've crafted a couple new mushrooms and a snowman, the snowman has a small "carrot" nose carved, but I forgot to get orange paint



I need to repaint the browns on both giraffe's and the snowmans hat/arms. For some reason the umber dosent take well first coat like the other colors. And I will also be adding a speck of blue to the giraffes eyes, not sure what to do with the whale since he's pretty blue already lol. I'm really happy how they all turned out though, the 2nd mushroom is a gold metallic paint that I thought would be cool, and I really like it.

I need to take some valiums when painting though, I shake way too much. Lol

Thankyou both very much, it means a lot coming from such skilled carvers. Especially after my wife clowned me pretty bad about my "polka dotted giraffes" atleast she could tell their sapposed to be giraffes right? Lol cute I can accept.

I'm definitly enjoying the small animals. Thankyou for the words of encouragment!
