I haven't been sleeping, I am still working on learning the techniques of wood carving. Have band saw, will carve. I carved the Indian Love Flute from plans by Ben Hunt The Golden Book "Indian Crafts and Lore" 1954 from Cedar and Walnut. The Cedar one has the nicest tone. Stylized cat is from The complete book of woodcarving, by Everette Ellenwood. The cat is in Butternut with a Walnut Base. Realistic Rabbit is from WCI Spring 2007 by Leah Wachter. Basswood with acrylic paint. I need to learn to work the fur better, although I am pleased with the results. I made the six sided box out of Mahogany. I inlaid purple heart on the top after a failed attempt at chip carving a border. The was not able to achieve the result that I was looking for so I used the purple heart to replace the carving. The sides were decorated with a simple shell pattern. The last Box was a Christmas gift from my older brother who had lined the interior with the Munro Tarton of my Scottish Grandfather. The box over the last 30 or so years was becoming beat up so I refinished it and carved a design by Rick Butz from his book Woodcarving with Rick Butz. I think my brother would be pleased. (He is missed)

Great job on all of them!!! If I were to choose which I like the best and since I love cats, the cat is my favorite, beautiful butternut, the walnut base really sets it off, fantastic piece!
Positive your brother would be pleased, thanks for sharing.

Nice set of carvings, Dave! I think the fur on the rabbit looks great - it's not realistic, but it's a good representation and appropriate for the carving.
