  • Thanks to gene-messer

I found a golf ball and remembered Gene Messer had a tutorial about how to carve them, so here is my first attempt. I changed it a little to make it look like a biker with a helmet and goggles.
As always, comments and constructive criticism is always welcome.

      Re: Thanks to gene-messer

Speaking of Gene, I was at the Townsend TN carving show and heard someone behind me calling my name. When I turned around it was none other than Gene Messer! That's right, all the way from Texas to a little town in Tennessee. I definitely wasn't expected and it was great to see him. He said he was up seeing his son and decided to drive over to the show. Gene is a great carver and one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. I'm definitely honored to call him my friend. If you are looking for a good resource to learn by, go through his videos. He's a carving master and don't get enough recognition for what he gives back to the carving community.

Nice work Michael! Gene will be proud of your accomplishments!

        Michael,

I like your golf ball. especially partial towards bikers myself. I have carved a few golfballs myself. I had not heard of carving golfballs untill I saw Gene's video.

        Safe Carving and God Bless,

Thanks, guys. This was one of those projects I had been literally kicking around, trying to keep from stepping on it. Decided it was time to do something with it. I seen Gene's video and had some fun with it. Does anyone know what type golf ball is wound? I thought I might try to avoid them, if I could.

BTW, Mark, I'm kinda partial towards bikers myself. I own a Kawasaki 9 and my son has a Harley Wide Glide. And I am considering joining the Patriot Guard Riders
