Salmon-Eagle Carved Door Update 2

Hi,
I've just finished carving the eagle that will be mounted on the door above the panel that I posted the photo of earlier. The branch it's sitting on will be extended on both ends and the branch and eagle will be mounted above a glass panel that will be above the stream scene panel. It is part of an integrated entry system with a scene that extends into the sidelights.

How much wood depth did you use?

Yes, I did work it out in clay. It was hard to figure out because it isn't fully three dimensional. It's about 5 1/2" thick but it is still a combination of high relief and three dimensional sculpture. It can be mind boggling sometimes to figure it out.

Great job Ron - Can't wait to see the finished project. By the way, who commissioned the door.

I especially like your skill with an air brush. I for one would like to see more information on this. It's a skill that I would like to attempt.

Thanks Bob,
The door was commissioned by an outdoorsman from British Columbia. I am taking a video of the whole process of carving and finishing this door.
