  • Flat Plane cowboy

I wanted to do something a little different today . So I found Gene Messer's pattern of a cowboy and decided to try and carve him. I started at 9 this morning and finished carving him at around 3:30 this afternoon with a lunch break in between. Not painted yet but I want to see what you guys thought of him and help me to give him a name. Thanks for looking and all comments are always welcome. Ginny

You are turning those cowboys out pretty fast Ginny, and he looks good too. It could be they called him slim when he was and the name stuck.

Thanks Joe. Think I'm going to call him Gus. Ginny

Great job Ginny! How about "Pot Belly Pete" or "Bow Legged Bob"?

That's one fine cowpoke you got there, Ginny. "Gus" is a good name, although I kind of like Bob K's, "Bow Legged Bob." Or just "Bolb" ...

I'l definitely have to give Gene's cowboy pattern a try. If I ever find another piece of basswood.
