This is my humming bird finished. A long project because I only got to work on it from time to time. It's not on a fancy base because its not about the base, it's about the bird. Anyway I am happy with the way it turned out.
The bird is maybe 4" long with the same wing span. Wings and plume were carved seperately and glued in, body and beak were one peice. The painting is done with pastel chalks and water, then brushed in to the wood. The flower is just something I came up with, I don't even know what it is. It is mounted on an alum. rod for strenght because its all that holds the whole peice up. I drilled a hole into the flower and stuck the birds beak in it and also have one other glue point on one of the pettals of the flower.
