Re: Bison WIP from Desiree Hajny Class
Kris no power carving experience needed in the class I took. Some folks did use a bit of power but mine was all by hand. I am going to guess that she may have some classes that are power carving or mixed methods also. Probably best to check before signing up.
Thank you all for the comments they are appreciated and have been what kept me going on this one.

Re: Bison WIP from Desiree Hajny Class
I really like that! Just curious, how much power carving experience would a person need before they jump into one of her classes?

Re: Bison WIP from Desiree Hajny Class
TERRY, Man oh man, that is beauitful. I agree with your wife, don't paint it. There are times when paint can make or break a piece . It is just to wonderful like it is. Say it sure would look good in my western collection, he he.

Cool looking animal. Great detail. Desiree Hajny must be a great instructor but your work also shows carving talent. Good luck with the burning and please post photo's when completd.

Re: Bison WIP from Desiree Hajny Class
Thanks Rich I will bring mine to the meeting if I don't forget :<). It won't be painted yet--not enough time and too far down the paint list.
The burning really changed the texture/look of the carving. My wife likes it the way it is with out painting but I will paint it soon.
Thanks for the nice comments they are what keep me going :<).

Re: Bison WIP from Desiree Hajny Class
I finally finished the burning on the bison( it takes a long time when you can only burn for 10-15 minutes every 3-4 hours). I began to think I was never going to get done :<). Now I need to paint it and that is always a challenge for me. I think I will finish this now :<) wasn't so sure a week or so ago.
I hope the pictures are OK after shrinking to fit I never know.

Re: Bison WIP from Desiree Hajny Class
Thanks for the kind words I really appreciate it. It was a very fun class and she is a great teacher.
Rich I am working on it don't know about entering it but will see--the burning is going OK just have to do it slowly( never dislocate a wrist). The paint will be another hill for me to climb I am not a painter :<).
