  • 2012 Christmas Ark Completed

Each year I do a new and different Noah's Ark for the Christmas season. This is the 2012 Ark.

    WOWSERS!

Do you carve an entirely new set of animals, two by two, to go with the ark? What happens to these wonderful creations? How long have you carried on with this tradition?

    I'm curious to know more!

What a great idea. Color me envious of the carving skills, the time, the focus, and the craftsmanship.

      Re: 2012 Christmas Ark Completed

Been doing this for about 20 years. Most of the arks are sold, but I still manage to keep a few around the house. For years I made and carved animals for around 20 Noah's Arks per year. I have a basic set of animals (18 pair) for each ark I make. I generally add a few more different animals as time permits. So far for the Christmas Ark I've added turtles, pelicans, hedge hogs. and snakes.

Lots of hard work in this ark, and it shows. I can't imagine doing even one ark...much less 20. Way to go Tom!!!

Your ark is wonderful! It would be neat to see a few of them if you have the time and notion to post pictures.
