  • "Worms on Wheels" for grandson

My little grandson is turning 1 and I did these "Worms on wheels" for him.

Couple of weeks ago I did two cars for my little guy turning 2

And I have do do one more of each as my little guy from Halifax, he's turning 5, is visiting and he has pick out the wood for his car and worm.

Worms are made of basswood , wheels are scrap pine I had laying around and wood dowel glued to wheels

    Thought I would share

    have a great day,
    Elaine

          Hi
very nice cars to play with! My son played with such a car for years.
How do you attach the wheels to the axle? Ii suppose they can turn freely.

Are the axles oddest so it wiggles? It must be great watching it being enjoyed!

Re: "Worms on Wheels" for grandson

                Thank-you,
It was funny, I made them for the 1yr old and when he pulled them out of the bag, the 2yr old grabbed them and ran with one under each arm. Good thing I always make a couple of each
When I first made them I didn't like how the wheels wobbled, but now I think they add to the simplicity of the toy, and it wobbles lol

Very imaginative project, Elaine. Well executed. A good example of the "Less is more" argument for children's toys.
