here's a santa i did for my mom. she collects old world style ones and said all she wanted this year is one carved by me. she has several smaller ones i've done. i have been so busy this year with commissions and Christmas carvings i got under the gun to get hers done. so a member of our carving club had an old roughout he designed that was about 12" -14" tall. mine are usually half that but away i went. the roughout was designed to have pants on and it had pockets on the robe. and had robe straight down on sides and the back. i wanted undergarment and no pockets plus i like my robes to have some movement so i added all the folds. .tried some new painting techniques on this one was pretty please with how it turned out. it's acrylic paints and deft finish right now but will probably wax and buff it to give it a soft luster, as opposed to the shine it now has. i hope she'll be please with it, you know how moms are they see with mom eyes.....the most hideous thing ever made too them is beautiful if their precious one made it lol

Re: largest santa
Mike that is a beautiful Santa Clause, any bodies Mother would like it, but especially your Mom will because you carved and painted it. As great as this turned out, you should carve everything under the gun. Merry Christmas!!
