My Version of Coming Out of the Wood
02-28-2014, 03:43 PM
Been working on this for some time. I'm not retired like some on here so projects have long completion times, especially when I go choosing the hardest piece of oak I've ever found for a project.
Take a look, I like constructive criticism.

That is going to be very nice! I like the design and the bits that are emerging so far. Hopefully you will share your progress with us.

The design flows nicely and is pleasing to the eye. Hope the rest of the carving goes as well as this rough out phase...good job.

Re: My Version of Coming Out of the Wood
Thanks for the kind comments.
I don't get masses of time to carve so progress is slow. I have been able to refine the shapes some.

Re: My Version of Coming Out of the Wood
In between work, taxes, failing sewage equipment and storm damage I got a little more carving in.

I really like the way you have used the grain to go with the flow of the dancers movement.

Very nice. I can't imagine trying to do that in Oak. That's challenging!

Really nice so far. You picked a dandy of a project. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Love the movement in the piece.
