Another Scott Carvings Tutorial Attempt

Hi There,
As I only have a kitchen to work in I found it quite hard to form a 3in square of limewood into a round shape with only my Flexcut palm tools and knives. So much so that I had to rest my hands for a day after finishing this. I'm sure there must be an easier way but I don't have the space or equipment to do it. Anyway enough of my crying. It turned out better than I thought in the end. Hope you like it.

I think you did a great job rounding your piece. I know what you mean about doing it with just a knife. I use a Ryobi reciprocating carver now to get the bulk of the wood off when I'm working from a block. My hands just couldn't take all that wood removal with a knife anymore. I got mine at a garage sale. Keep an eye out at "old folks" garage sales. You could use it at your table.
