First carving project

Well, I've just completed (I think) my first project. Cut from basswood for a class for seniors. I see many opportunities for growth.

Comments, advice?

Very nice, Steve!
For your consideration: You could carve a frame as part of the relief (See "To frame or not frame" in the Chip & Relief forum). You could mark a border around the face of the carving and extend the background to that border. There is no "right" way - It is your carving!
