Cypress knee Santa

I know it is way past Christmas, but I have been working on this carving on and off for almost 2 years. I am so excited that it is almost done!!!!! I am not sure if I painted the tree quite right so any suggestions as to how the tree could be improved upon are welcomed. In fact any constructive criticism is welcomed because I tried so many new things on this carving (never: carved a cypress knee, carved a snow ladden tree, wood burned a beard, used oil paints, wood burned fur on a critter, and the list goes on) that I know there are oodles of things that could have been done better.
