Gorilla

just finished my intarsia gorilla project. I tried carving hair into it which was a hard decision because I have put alot of work into it. Turned out pretty good.I think I will try and combine more intarsia projects with my limited carving ability . I am working on a 4 ft eagle and will try to carve out the feathers.

I would say you made a good decision. Looks great to me. Be sure and post pics of the eagle when you get it done

Great job!!
I would go lightly with the hair. I think it takes away from the beauty of the wood grain. The eyes are very expressive and really draw my attention.

That is a beautiful piece of work. My wife would love it as she is really into gorillas. Says a lot for me doesn't it. Well done.

Great job on cutting and fitting the intarsia. The carving of the hair just added a whole new aspect to your mastery of the art. Even with the carving your choice of woods and the grain shine through.

Really nice! I'm not all that familiar with intarsia but I sure like the looks of it.
