        I'm finally getting to the point of not having any large amounts of material to cut off.
        Pretty well just shaping and finishing to do now.
        The large smooth areas have had breaking out the cabinet scraper. It works beautifully in the apple wood, no sanding required!

        There's still lots of checks in the wood to fill. I won't do such a large piece in apple again.

          Steev, you are wicked good. This is brilliant.
          While I love apple wood; it peels so easily BUT it warps and cracks easily also.

              Very nice carving Steev, I have never tried carving any thing of large size in apple,I know it is a slow process.
