Often times I've thought a painted carving loses something once painted. Not the case with this one. Your painting has really brought it to life. You have captured the character of Johnny Depp in this carving and while the carving is exceptional I feel the painting is what accomplishes it here. Excellent. Lar

Thanks everyone for your kind words. The paint was defiantly a challenge on this one for me. Especially in determining where the line is between just enough and going over board. Learned things to do, and not do for the next one. Overall I'm pleased and my wife loves it. The colors also fit real nice with some art prints she has in our living room so I think this one has found a place on the fireplace mantel in there.

I'll tell you what this carving was hard to photograph. I was getting pictures that where every color except the color it really is. From to red, to yellow, to green, to dark, to bright on and on. Might be time to upgrade the camera and look into proper lighting.
