Checking out the overall composition. Lots to do still like feather detail, eyes, paint and detail the base etc. it will be a gift for my daughter. A lot of time to spend under the magnifier head set. Lol

That base is a great idea.
Is there some kind of filler across the back between the wings?
What did you use to stick the beak in?

I used milliput where the wings were inserted...hopefully it will take a burning pen. I used wood filler before but did not like the outcome. The beak is not finished yet. It needs to be quite a bit slimmer. The bird is attached to the leaf at the tail section. When I put the composition together it actually tilted over so I had to drill out where the stem goes into the leaf and add five split shot sinkers to give it better balance. Good thing I am a fisherman too..
