    We went for a weekend away, I took this piece of green Juniper for amusement. Finished with tung oil.

    Nice work Steev. I like the way the natural color and grain come through. Is Juniper hard to carve? I would have guessed that it is high in resin.

            Thanks for the compliments.
            The juniper I have was a tree in the front yard a month ago, so it is very green. A couple of sections have had a little resin, but for the most part it is soft and carves very smooth. There is a bit of a tendency to split small pieces along the grain so fine detail is not advisable.
