~~ Door of the Wizard ~~

Finished this piece recently. The Door of the Wizard, standing 11 \\\\\\\" tall, of basswood and finished by painting with various stains. The Wizard was done a few years ago. I have a collection of them. The door was carved as an extra piece for a Christmas gift. Seems I have to start my carving list earlier and earlier each year.

An interesting carving, I would imagine getting the wood texture stained into the door took some time, a well laid out carving. . .JoeB

Thanks for the kind words. I have decided to do another door of similar shape and size and gift them with a couple Wizzards, to my eldest granddaughter, as a pair of bookends. She is an avid reader and has a rather impressive collection of books. She\'ll probably flip out, as my most recent carvings for the past few years, have been for the little ones
