  • Just finished mask...

Attached are pictures of a Thunderbird Spirit mask I just finished.

Alaskan Yellow Cedar, acrylic paint, horse hair, feathers. About 14\\\\\\\" high, excluding feathers.

    Feedback, constructive criticism is welcome.

Better, more detailed pictures forthcoming, if desired.

    Thanks for looking,

Outstanding Scooter! You have a great eye for Pacific NW artforms - but we knew that. I doubt anyone here is qualified to advise you on carving in this style. Thanks for sharing.

Symmetry and assymetry. They fit together. Beautiful mid coast carving, colors and finish.

Carving and Paint is well done Scooter. Yellow cedar is on of my favored woods to carve.

Certainly an eye catching carving, seems to be well appointed. . . JoeB

                  Thanks all.

I\'m mostly happy with it. I had reached the point where any more carving/paint just made things worse.

Stay tuned for a PNW-style panel I just finished. All I need is some way to frame it; whether it be an actual frame or a carved border...

Great looking Mask, when I lived in the Pacific Northwest, I enjoyed
attending many Pow Wows with the different North West Indian Tribes
and they decorated their canoes and oars with the different masks very
                      similar to yours.
