Just finished this staff, one of three owl sticks for a customer. After finishing the staff and taking the photo, it looks like ET. Grin. What do you think.
I have been working on that of and on for about a week. The head was the part that needed the time. I'll post a larger photo in the photo gallery. Thanks
Got to say it........That stick is a Hoot! Smile Great work Hugh, the photo "is" hard to see, until you get it pulled up to the full version in the gallery. Then you get to see all those lovely feather detail! Great work, your customer is going to be a happy hiker. Somethings all white or all black are difficult to photograph, or make out detail. Getting ready to carve a crow cane and running into that problem.

Before they slip me over the standing part of the fore sheet, let them pipe: "Up Spirits" one more time.
Just finished the three owl sticks, posted the snowy owl before, but thought someone might like a peek at them. Something different. Got to ship tomorrow.
Beautiful work Hugh. Outstanding! I just recieved a copy of "The Illustrated Owl, Screech & Snowey" by Denny Rodgers and Lori Corbett, such a super book! Can't wait to try an owl cane now!
I'll be looking for tips.
