  • It took long enough but it's finished!

After months of working on this Santa , I finally finished it... The Santa and feeder were carved by me.. My son Johnny carved the rabbit and Curtis had the squirrel and deer about done, but I had to do the faces, ears and shape up the legs some, so I guess you could call this one a family affair! I used Hugh's idea for the sawdust on the base and added some cottonwood bark for wood on the forest floor. I know Lynn my hands won't even start to compare with your carvings but I tried .....as this is my second pair of hands.
I don't know why one picture turned out with a yellow cast . Now ..please let me do some things ..just for fun. Charlotte

Absolutely beautiful, Charlotte! And it's even better because of the prior and present contributions to it's completion.

                    Great Santa, Charlotte!
The hands are, in my poor humble opinion, just right for the rest of the figure. The painting is outstanding - along the lines to which I aspire, but will probably never achieve. The carving of the face is also great - looks to have good proportions and properly rounded. My vote is for the blue ribbon!

Before they slip me over the standing part of the fore sheet, let them pipe: "Up Spirits" one more time.
