Your eagle's eyes and brow really tells you who's in charge - very nice.

            looks awesome so far.

is there something added to the tip of the beak? maybe acrylic? or is it a shadow?

                Re: Eagle Bust

The end of the beak is done with super glue and baking soda. Like cement, and not so apt to break off. Put in a pin first, and then applied the super glue, and then baking soda, just kept building it up, and let it dry overnight, then shaped it this morning. Its very very hard. That fine tip on a eagle or hawks bill is very thin.

                          Re: Eagle Bust

I have a question Hugh...why the baking soda? I have used crazy glue to stiffen and harden weak areas before but haven't used baking soda in it, how does that help? thanks

                            Very lifelike. Great job!

I'm curious about the baking soda as well. Mix them together before applying? Rub it in before the glue sets?

                              Re: Eagle Bust

Baking soda is used to build up the end. I put on the super glue, then dip it in baking soda. I built a tip on the bill doing this, and then sanded it to shape. Also it accepts carving or grinding much better than other materiels.
