  • Saleing a CHAINSAW CARVING

    Hi all. i chainsawed a mushroom. for my wife and it looks great, the problem is she took it to work and everone wants one. its about 10inch around. 12 high. HOW MUCH SHOULD I ASK FOR THEM? KEITH THE KNIFE.

    How much do you think they are worth. Better yet, What do others think they are worth. Consideration is time, equipment, sealer, paint, finish.
    Some don't consider time spent on a carving but time is money. Without a picture, hard to judge the worth of a piece. However, the worth of it to one may not be as high or low to another. Quote them a price and see if they will accept that price.

      Now this is second hand gathered information, but I have read on chainsaw carving sites, that the "going" rate is $100.00 per foot. Of course, that will also be determined by how big it is in diameter and how much carving/finishing is actually done. That should be a starting point anyway.
