  • Wood Spirits

I found a Youtube Video by Jordy Johnson on power carving Wood Spirits and thought that I would try. These are the results and were carved from Poplar. One was from the corner of a piece and the other from a 1-3/4" round. I stained them with a Golden Oak Oil Stain. One was carved with a Dremel which is wearing out and the other with my new Foredom SR. The Foredom is so much quieter and smoother to use.

Nice job. I have never carved poplar before. Maybe I will give it a go.

I like to use popular to make cane handles. It is a tough straight-grained wood. Good job on your carvings, kind of remind me of old Greek statues.
