I have had a corded Dremel tool for many years, but it was a 'pain in the you know what' if I wanted to use it somewhere out of the reach of an extension cord!

I have the Harbor Freight app on my phone, and got a notice that they were having a Memorial Day sale last week, and one of the tools on sale was a cordless rotary tool...well, we were in Colorado on vacation during that time, and I picked one up!

It was a 71 piece set, which included a flex shaft! Got it for $19.95, normally $24.95. Seems to be a decent value, and I think as long as I don't get too rough with it, it will last a while!

I know some of you have the Flex Shaft tool, (like the Foredom), but have not seen anyone speak of their smaller rotary tools...will let you know how it works!

I have one as well. Works great. Starter switch went out. I just by passed and covered with electrical tape.

Add a router speed controller a d you will have a variable speed rotary tool. I also added a cheap flex shaft from eBay.

Myself and Harbor Freight electrical power tools don't seem to get along. I've never owned one that lasted much beyond it's break-in period. In fact, I currently have a multi-tool which has a finicky switch on it. Unfortunately it was one of those deals where I picked it up in the event I'd have a need but that need arose well beyond it's warranty period. In the past I've had a HF Sawzall where the chuck failed and two 3/8" reversible drills that burned up. However, it's got to be me and rotten luck because if HF was that bad they'd have long ago gone out of business.

I believe DiLeon has owned a few of these. I have a corded Dremel that has seen frequent use for 20 years, and is still going strong. My only complaint is that it rotates so that a right-handed carved has the dust/chips thrown directly at him instead of away from him.

I have had one of these for a couple years from the Chinese Mercantile stores.

My son got me one for a BD. I hooked it up to my burner heat adjuster and works like a champ, I did go on line and get Foredoms chisels for my WeCheer units that I have that plugs right in. Still have the corded unit and a large 12v battery power Dremel too. To me, no need to go UNTOOLED!

20 bucks,, ghessh! Ya robbed them. HAaa.
