  • My Three Passions

I am so intrigued with carving. Haven’t done much yet. These are my 3 passions of the moment.... Scrolling, pyrography, and mandala drawing. I needed a project that incorporated all of them. Carving is next! I am so humbled by what I see on this site. So much talent!!

First of all, I had no idea what "mandala" , had to google it, my eyes would come out of the socket, but it seems to present you with any problems. These are quite well done, the detail∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙

Beautiful work!... I'm with Joe on this one,... had to Google up "mandala" just to find what it was. My eyes are a little too tired and my hands a little too shakey
to try anything like that, but I really admire your talent.

Can we hope to see all the other states as one map?
The vision-related remarks here make me chuckle before I burst into geezer tears.
              You are good.

Thank you! The drawings actually have the opposite effect on me.... It’s more of a therapy, helps me relax. I have arthritis and have to pace myself but, I craft whenever my hands will let me.
I have a cutout of the US and I plan on centering several mandalas on cities and states where family lives and have them intersect. A little hard to explain! Hopefully I’ll get to it soon!
Thank you all for the kind words

I am reminded of a map/puzzle of the United States when I was a kid. Typical map, maybe 16" x 24" scroll sawed on 1/4" plywood (basswood, maybe.)
Was a race to see who could finish the fastest. I can still remember that New England was the hard part.
Your mandalas are much more elegant than yellow, baby blue, mint green and pink.
