  • My to detailer

I have had a small wood burning unit for many years. I primarily use it for high lighting areas in my carvings. All the time I have had it I have been unhappy with it. Not knowing any thing about pyrography I thought wood burners were about the same. My old one died and reviewing post on the forum I replaced it with a Colwood Detailer with the 16 gage wire.
Wow, was I wrong they are not all the same. I am really happy with this detailer. I wish I had gotten one sooner. I see some pyrography in my future.

That should work good for you Randy, nice to have the replaceable tips too.
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

I've found a big difference between the soldering iron type burner and the professional type of burners. I use an Optima and most of the burners have the same basic technology. You sure can't go wrong with a Colwood. Italian Poplar is a great wood to burn on BTW.

        Good luck with it.

I got my Colwood last year after I thought my Razortip Burner died, it was a bad Wire not the Unit , gave it to my Daughter . I feel the Colwood is much better.I got the Colwood Super Pro 11 because I felt it would last me as long as I needed it and didn't have to by another one . I feel I made a good choice and I think you also made a good choice. Merle

I replace a razortip with the Colwood. And can see a real improvement in performances.
