  • Looking for old Colwood Fish Scale wood burning replaceable or fixed tips

I’m looking for older Colwood fish scale wood burning tips to buy. These were the ones with the whole scale on them instead of just the curved line that the tips are now.

Donna, I am not sure what these tips looked like that you are seeking. I was wondering if these round tips could be reshaped a little to create a scale. https://mountainwoodcarvers.com/coll...le-tip-package

I don’t know how to take a picture from the internet and post it. But if you go to the Greg dorrance link you can see them. Sorry!

They are all out of Stock at Colwood and Dorrance. I just ordered something from McKenzie but didn’t see the tips. I’ll call them tomorrow. Pat Kennedy no longer makes them so I guess I will have to find them when someone sells their old ones. And I actually talked to Pat to see if he has some leftovers but no luck. They come in different sized scales for different fish or different places on the fish. They are different than the modern day ones in that they have the whole scale shape to burn instead of just the curved outside line.

Im doing well, Dave. Hope to see you at some of the fall shows!
