  • Newbie with burner question

    Hi All,
First off I would like to say I probably don't belong here with all the talent that is here, but hopefully I will fit in some day.
I have a burnmaster unit right now and am not happy with the fact that the
tip cools off in the middle of my work. I am looking at purchasing a Colwood fixed pen unit and was wondering if I am making a smart move?

    Thanks
    Kamac

    Re: Newbie with burner question

When you say that the tip cools off are you talking about in the middle of a line as you are pulling it? If so you just need to slow your draw a little or turn up the temp. If you are talking the pen itself cooling midway through the picture I've got nothing for you. I would guess its defective.

      Re: Newbie with burner question

      Thanks for your help!

I tried slowing down and that didn't work, it actually cools down and takes approx 30 seconds to heat back up, but can be very annoying when I am in the middle of something. It's like it heats for a certain time than cools down a bit than heats up again. Seems to be consistent in times that it happens so I thought it was supposed to do that, but I will check with them and see if it is defective.

      Thank again

Hello and welcome, Kamac. It's nice to have you here with us. Perhaps a call to the manufacturer would be in order before you invest in another unit.

Thank you, I have put off buying a new one and will continue to work witht he one I have for the time being, and have placed a call to see if this is normal, if not I will retun this one and get the double burner one.
