  • Walking Away

This may be my last post of wood burning for a while. Doctor is sending me back to work Monday. Oh, well it was fun while it lasted.

This is from a photo of my son walking away from the beach at Charleston, SC.

Baltic Birch 8-1/2" x 11" using 1mm ball, shader and skew points.

Bill - that is LOVELY. It inspires thinking. Just a wonderul piece of work.

It's nice that you are able to get back to work but so very bad if you can't burn as much. Please keep trying to find time.

        Bill,
What a nice burning. I love the detail that you and so many of the people here put into the art of burning wood. Very nice job.

        Safe Burning and God Bless,

Great job, Bill. I love the detail. Too bad you have to hang up the burner for a while, but great that you can get back to work.

Once again you did it Bill. It is too bad work interferes with art but we all need to eat. Just an awesome burning!

Thank you very much Conrad, I'm glad you like it. Although the trees in the background could probably be a little better, I like it (and so does my wife - and that's what counts).

I have to return to work and catch up on all of the stuff around the house that I've been neglecting, but I'm going to try to keep my hand in burning, but it will probably take a few weeks to complete one with the time available. I also have to get back to some carving. So much to do and so little time.

I use the Colwood Detailer that I ordered from the Christian J. Hummul Company here:

Wow - I'm blown away by the comments this piece is receiving! I know that it's my wife's favorite, but then, she's doubly prejudiced - her husband did a picture of HER son.

Once again, thanks so much for the comments and encouragement they provide.
