  • Opinions needed - burning stations to work on antlers

    Dear friends,

I would be very thankful if you share your experience with using burning-stations working on antlers.
I have 2 such ones very suitable for wood work but now I am to use this working on antlers and the temperature is not enough.

If anyone ever tried I'd be grateful for the recommendation of a powerful device,

What systems do you have? You might want to talk yo the manufacturer to see what they recommend. I know on mine I was able to upgrade the cord and it handles high heat better.

Re: Opinions needed - burning stations to work on antlers

I read very good opinions about Brenn-Peter Master and contacted them and though they say it suits any material I still WOULD like to know real opinions of those who worked with any burning devices on antler.

Hmmm...I don't think the wood burning devices I have can be upgraded, their power is 20W and 25 W only....

Thanks a lot for your tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, that was the post I began quite a time ago....and here I would like to share the results of my work with the burning station: the images of the two moose antler carvings I made using my burning station so as to make a natural toning on the moose atlers I carve.

Well carved. I like the activity, not just animals standing like statures.

Razertip burners are 45 watts (single and double pens) and are made in Canada.
I watch them being used on moose antler carvings. Dozens of tip shapes are available.

                Dear Friends,
thank you for your kind words! But I did find useful tips here which helped me - it was a dilemma to decide on a burning station good for a moose antler. And actually using it to colour the carved composition requires much effort and is quite challenging.

Those are two beautiful pieces of work. The detail and movement is spectacular. Well done.
Before they slip me over the standing part of the fore sheet, let them pipe: "Up Spirits" one more time.

Fantastic work on the antler's given the right woodburner you will create some beautiful works in wood. I have a Razor Tip with duels for two pens and get plenty of heat when needed or less when needed.
