  • Newbie question

I am looking to expand my hobby horizons, and just bought a book by Sue Walters with some wildlife patterns that I am going to try. Going to try it when I am not carving.

I have such a simple question, it almost sounds goofy. When you start a basic pattern, you should outline the object you are burning, correct? After the outlining, one would start doing your tonal shading, etc, right?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Re: Newbie question

You don't always outline your Pattern because it might have rough air outline and a solline would give you a hard line. You have a good book and Susan will explain it better than I can. Merle

      Merle,
Thanks! I kind of figured that...guess my question would pertain to those patterns that were outlined in a solid line.
