Yes, Kathy, and when you get that one done, here's another knotty problem:

I'm actually carving a celtic knot now, it's not quite as intricate as the one I posted, but still a challenge.

pallin, wow your puzzle is fantastic, but not for me. hee, hee

joe, cane topper would be neat...might be tricky to fit on the top of a cane.

Dwight, my celtic knot would be pretty easy, pallin's on the other hand would give me a headache.

Papasar, your right a chip carver would have fun with either one.

Bob K., Thank you, please share when you carve one.

Thank you all, for your interest!

Soggy - This figure was the subject of a tutorial on carving impossible designs in relief. Here is a link to a recent discussion that includes illustrations, and on to the tutorial:

That resembles one of the Celtic knots that I am carving right now, a little more elaborate, but not much. I am doing mine for broaches/pins for a jacket or sweater, as well as a bunch more Maple leaves.

Before they slip me over the standing part of the fore sheet, let them pipe: "Up Spirits" one more time.

Thanks for thinking of me, Joe. I love carving nested polyhedrons in relief.
