Rodent control at it's finest... lol. They sure are beautiful birds , we usually have a few visit each year here on the coast. They seem to prefer the barren headlands....... probably reminds them of their arctic habitat.
If you're looking for me, you'll find me in a pile of wood chips somewhere...
I heard that Grandpa kept all birds from the barn (massive frame thing turn of the century) but allowed the Snowy Owl the run of the farm. Naturally it was a Horse drawn everything farm.
Very nice Bird, love it and you can carve this one. I saw a barn Owl in a mag,the picture was about 2 inches high.. It is now carved one of my first birds and still in waiting ..Incidentally we live next to a Raptor reserve here and occasionally get a good Owll in our area , but a lot of Red Tail Hawks.
