Flat plane and chip carving is something I've tried to get around but didn't like my results, now if I could do the chipping a clean and neat as your I would make a lot of different items, well done

Beautiful work! I'm with Joe...I just can't get my head wrapped around flat plane and chip carving. My knives just don't work on either one.

Your trays are really nice, Steve! I know readers of the MyChipCarving E-letter were very interested in your solid work when I showcased your chip carving.
Bob and Joe, will you take me up on a challenge?
it's my claim that I can teach ANYONE to chip carve!
          What do you say, guys?

I am assuming the wood for the trays is bass wood? If so does it hold up to use very well?
