This piece I can thank Don Mertz for. Don had one of his miniatures that he chip carved on and I said "if Don can do that I can do that". That was the fire for me so I made a 2" cube and chip carved all sides for the miniature catagory at the Dayton Artistry in Wood show. I was lucky enough to get a blue ribbon with it. I made this piece out of Holly so I could get the fine details for such small chips.

Re: Chip carved 2" cube
Just beautiful, Roger.
Superb. Exquisite. Perfection....
Running our of adjectives!
Your chip carving always just knocks me out and this is no exception.
The Gold Standard by which all others can be measured.
I saw you with Wayne B. in the latest Chip Chaps.
That too was an extraordinary piece.
The wondrous beauty of your work is always surprising, but the fact that you take Blue ribbons is not!
Thank you for always sharing your work.
