    You can also just contact local VA clinics, hospitals, and veteran service organizations. Since battlefield medicine has improved many vets are surviving but disabled. Even the older vets are getting less mobile and have a need for canes.

    Glad to see the interest in helping the veterans...a great thought.

    There are a number of canes for vet programs, the Texas woodcarvers guild had a one and the American National Cane Club. Some other carving clubs do it for local vets in their area. Fun Projects and the vets really seem to appreciate getting them.

    Nice project, but several canes shown don't look like practical "working" canes, and others are more walking sticks than canes. Isn't there a similar group making canes for disabled veterans?
