  • A way to Display your Canes and Walking Sticks

IMG_0005.JPGIMG_0006.JPG These are my Daughters Walking Sticks that I made for her over the years . She wanted to hang them on a Wall , I had 2 pieces of Basswood with the Bark on so finished them and she painted them Black . She used Drawer Pulls to hang them from . Thought someone would like to see a way to display your Sticks. Merle IMG_0004.JPG

Hi Joe, she pointed out that their is room for more . She also has a Section of Wall upstairs that has my other Carvings , Plaques , etc . The other Daughter same way , always gave to both never to just one . God forbid they ever have a House Fire , with all my carvings it will burn for days. Ha,Ha. thanks Joe. Merle

that is kind of the way it is with Xmas presents, always got to do 7 of the same things. They all display differently, maybe in boxes

Good plan, the drawer pulls. Never, ever would have thought of those.
Nothing quite like canes made with diamond willow.
I'll vote for the dragon. Did you bend that one?

Merle, She is going to need some bigger boards the way you are carving canes and walking sticks.

If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

Can't have any blank pegs, Merele. More work down the road. Very nice display idea and makes the already excellent canes accented with the hanging.

Nice display Merle. As a rule there is more wall space than floor space for displaying, you’re not competing with the furniture.

Hi Brain T , The Dragon is a Design from the UK Carvers No I didn't bend him , but I did need to put a Dowel thru the Bend ( 3/8 " ) , that was a week spot . It's Basswood . Your right Diamond Willow is Great for Canes and Sticks . Thanks for Commenting ... Merle

Hi Tom , They showed interest in my Carving when I first started . Birthday would come and they would buy me a Tool that I would be needing . The Oldest Daughter would take my practice pieces of Chip Carving and other pieces of practice. She really has a History of my Work and still wants more . I guess they want to keep their Father off the Streets. Ha,Ha. Thanks Tom. Merle
