  • Next baluster project

This baluster come out of the same house as the other one but a different stair case. This one is oak with long flutes rathe than swirls. First step will be to remove old finish. Then choose a subject for carving on the top. I am leaning toward covering the top with Dogwood flowers. Making it more of a ladies so my wife and I would both have a baluster cane.

Geez Randy, That house isn’t going to worth much when you are done with it. Neat project.
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

Going to be watching with much interest, curious, are these coming from a house that is being remodeled? Now you and your wife can practice a little fencing

Not sure I am brave enough to go toe to toe with my bride! These balusters came out of a old house that was being taken down a few years back. Just happen by when they were bringing the balusters out of the house. They had cut up the stair rails in to about 4ft sections. I ask if I could have a couple of the balusters on the ground. I never saw inside the house. I thought it was strange to have two stair cases with such contrasting colors.
