Those canes make great wall hanging Merle. The fit on those skinny wall that are hard to decorate. I have had a few of them.We live in the land of the free because of the brave! Semper Fi

The guys in the rustic furniture shop here have a process to size up a cane for a custom fit. That implies that walking, the cane length keeps your shoulders level, you aren't bent to the right or left.
> Stand up in the shoes/boots that you commonly wear.
> Measure from the floor up to the skin crease on the inside of your wrist.
> That's the total, overall length of the cane from the top of the topper to the bottom of the peg, whatever you use. They use all Lee Valley parts, work and look good.
> They got it right. I have 3 of their canes, any one of which is a comfort to walk with and lean on.
> They cut the tenon at the bottom extra long so they can saw off bits of it to work back to the needed length.

Merle: Any way you can add an extension to the bottom to get a better overall length?Brian T

Hi Brian , I could cut it in the Middle and add a Piece their to lengthen it but it would be still a Weak Cane and really not worth the Effort , it's done and I have no Interest in messing with it anymore . I appreciate your Suggestions but for me it's like Beating a Dead Horse . Ha,Ha. Merle
