New cane in the works

New cane in the works. 1 inch diameter Walnut shank with a Mahogany handle. The second picture. Is my new thought for the handle. Swirled ends and a textured top on the grip. If not this cane then next on. Since I cannot draw, I like cut and paste.

The "swirls" are actually snails. That gives you some idea of my walking speed.
I like the multiple woods. Makes an interesting visual feature.

I have not carved it in many years. I am going to spend some time in the scrap box working it out. I will let you know what I end up doing.

I did not get the idea for the swirl / snail until I mounted the handle. I like to shape the handle on the shank but not sure about carving detailI will be a new experience. But thats carving and those challanges we often make for our selves are always interesting.
