Merle, Exactly what I had in mind. There are more than a few tidbits/tips/ideas/etc, in your description, for any one to give a try. Not that they'd be able to match the excellence of your carving and finishing, but certainly improve on their own. I'm off to give your techniques a try. Thanks for sharing.
