There is a young guy in my area that is trying to learn to carve walking sticks so i thought i would carve one and see if this would help him.I just wish i would of had someone to help with hands on when i got started.I carved this stick out of black birch i love the pattern in the wood the stick is about 5"feet tall.
MAN THAT CAN UPLOAD FIVE PHOTOS WITH DIAL UP CAN DO ANYTHING !!!!YES. Enjoy

    Re: Stick

Wow! This spirit is strikingly good to be so basic in nature. I really like the contrast of such light wood against that beautiful black birch. Your young carver is certainly lucky to have the guidance that evidently neither of us had. Hopefully you can sit down with him and also show him the progression in carving of a face.

Thanks for posting this excellent example!

          Hi Vic,

I hear you. I could have used the hands on help, too. You sure don't need any help now and it's nice you're helping others.

That's one nice staff Vic, and a nice gesture on your part. I hope the youngun' realises just how lucky he is to get the "kick start" that you are offering. Great stuff!!

Great stick Vic. I aspire to that quality but without a little guidance, it will take some time.
