I wish I still could use a knife , I am only using power tools now , it is so different from before , BUT I still carve , that is all what matters

wonderful thread not that i want to be the devils advocate again but i find that i get bad lines if the tip of my knife isnt sharp enough if its really sharp i get good lines but this knowledge is priceless

Thanks for the insight. I never knew there were special knives available for relief carving. I did it all with chisels and a boxcutter knife for my gunstock relief carving. I made small knives from old high tensile hacksaw blades for doing the inletting.Have learnt a lot from this forum.
