Great help.Have been giving quite a bit of thought to this exact problem of determining layers for a project. Am looking to do a large coffee table relief carved with a bush scene with creek, deer birds etc. Have a 3 inch thick piece of swamp Kauri for it so can go fairly deep and glass top it. Need to do a lot more carving before I tackle this though.
